meet KATE.

 Today was my new cousin 'Kate's' baby shower.

-got all creative and each guest designed a onesie.. SO fun, SO unique, brought everyone SO much joy.

 So, Ive noticed that every time I have gone to jamba juice, the lady/guy at the cashier has had some of the most unique names ever... SOME of my favorites

NOT.fashionable.

"If we Christians live unaware of the subtle ways in which worldliness seeps into how we think, feel, and live, we'll never exhibit the beautiful, refreshing, unfashionable difference this world desperately needs to see."

woah.. yep this short, impactful passage that is part of a challenging, straightforward book is something that transformed my day. One of my friends showed me THIS book, 'unfashionable', that basically discusses the meaning of being part of the 'counter culture' and how that can therefore affect our lives, our faith, but most importantly the way we view God amidst the world that tries to cover him up. Weird, when you sit back and realize how the worldliness/ worldly tendencies seep into our day to day rutines. Even just catching myself gossiping about the littlest things, or worrying about stuff that should be the last thing on my mind is embarrassing  to look back on. Its awesome to think how much of a difference/ impact people can make on a situation just by standing out, by being profoundly different. 

So TODAY I went on a HIKE.

    

one of those "lets-go-on-a-hike-oh-crap-it's-actually-mountain/rock-climbing"...

-got soaked

-met a horse named "Diego"

-allie scaled the side of every mountain.

-climbed 3 levels of waterfalls[nbd]

-almost hit [with a car] a pack of jersey shore look alikes

-proved we were hikers----straight up.

I don't know what it has been lately, but I almost feel like my life has been a blur, a constant coast that has become routine. Nothing bad, just living life day by day, but when asked by a friend at the end of the day "what I was living for" or "what two things I thought of the most".. its not usually things that I would be proud of. Funny how we "constantly think" of things of no importance, when the only thing that is REALLY important IS constant. This concept, amidst this blur, has become something that blows my mind. Realizing that despite the fact that we change day after day after day, there is a God that is constant is awesome.

^THAT was random, but definitley something that has been on my heart and I thought id share.
